MY STORY

Hello, I am Susan. 

I am an American yoga teacher E-RYT® 200, RYT® 500, YACEP®.  I grew up in the open prairies of North Dakota.  Together with my Norwegian husband, we are living and raising our children in Porsgrunn Norway. I practice yoga because it helps my body feel good, balances my nervous system, and helps me to connect to something bigger than myself.  I teach yoga because I want to help others feel and experience the benefits that yoga brings.  I teach in both Norwegian and English.

As a mother of 3 children and a female entrepreneur, maintaining my own yoga practice and incorporating the tools of yoga into my life is a necessity for clarity, grounding, balance, and inner peace. 

 

I started my yoga journey while living in Eugene, Oregon in 1999.  I was a graduate student at the University of Oregon attending architecture school and felt an enormous amount of stress and pressure, yoga helped lessen the feeling of stress in my body and mind.  I approach my yoga practice in a grounded, fluid, and natural way.  I modify and change my own practice so that it nourishes me during the different seasons, monthly cycle, and phases of my life.  My intention is to teach yoga with openness, warmth, and lightness creating a safe space for both new and experienced yoga students.  I have been teaching yoga since 2012.

Several years ago, I wrote an intention in my diary that I wanted to manifest a life where I could live and work fluidly from home while raising my family.  I wanted to create and design a private space connected to my home where I could share the teachings of yoga with you. Kosha Yoga Shala is my dream come true.

 

Kosha Yoga Shala is not a gym or yoga studio.  It is a contemplative space near the sea to nourish your yoga practice and soul.  I hope that you will join me for one or several of the course offerings and trainings at

  • Energy and awakening training with Bonnie Greenwell PhD. 

  • Yin yoga study and practice

  • B.A. Psychology

  • Masters in Interior Architecture
