Helping you experience your essence through yoga-

YOGA AND THE SUBTLE BODY

A BIT ABOUT ME . . .

I am a prairie girl from North Dakota.  I love the openness of the prairie, the never-ending horizon which explains why I like to be near the sea here in Norway. My great-grandparents emigrated from Norway to the wide-open prairie in the late 1800's. I have always had a connection to Norway.   I moved to Norway because of LOVE in 2004 and have been here since.  I live and work in Skien Norway.

I am a mother of 3, a wife, a daughter, friend, and sister, sister-in-law, and daughter-in-law.  I am also an ashtanga yoga student and yoga practitioner, and yoga teacher, as well as an entrepreneur and practicing interior architect and founder of www.stelldesign.no

All of these roles we that we are given in life and pursue ourselves come with expectations. Expectations that we put on ourselves and also expectations from others that are projected on us.  Over time those expectations, projections, and experiences are stored in the body - the fascia, ligaments, organs, the muscles and areas of the body like the joints.

Yoga for me is a spiritual practice and tool which has helped me move through challenging times and stress in my life.  Yoga helped me evolve and expand through 3 pregnancies and the births of 3 children.

I have had the unique opportunity to study yoga with some very wonderful and knowledgeable yoga teachers. I have studied 500-hours Ashtanga yoga under the guidance of Basia Lipska Larsen who is a certified Ashtanga teacher of K. Pattabhi Jois.  I have also had the opportunity to attend workshops taught by Ashtanga yoga masters such as John Scott, David Swensen, and Kino MacGregor and regularly attend workshops of Paramaguru Sharath Jois. I have also delved deeper into the study of chakras and the energy systems of the subtle body as well as mudras under the teachings of Anodea Judith and Kaustub Desikachar.

I travel back to the US during the summers to visit family and friends and combine teaching yoga with my travels.

The sanskrit word for heart chakra is ANAHATA. The element is air.  AIR implies spaciousness and is a result of letting go. It's function is LOVE. By receiving love or offering love - we feel a warmth and s p a c i o u s n e s s in and around the heart area - the front...

Chakras function like rooms in a house. Learn yoga postures that will help you keep chakras balanced.
